James Blunt a devenit unul dintre cei mai bine cotati muzicieni in acest moment si asta la scurt timp dupa lansarea albumului sau de debut - "Back to Bedlam�. Este surprinzatoare ascensiunea muzicala a englezului, mai ales ca a crescut intr-o familie care nu avea nici macar un CD-player in casa. "Tatal meu, militar de cariera, era un individ foarte practic si considera muzica, inclusiv cea clasica, doar zgomot. Aveam un aparat audio doar la masina si vreo trei CD-uri - "American Pie" si cateva piese cu Beach Boys". In clipa in care a plecat la scoala, mama sa a considerat ca lectiile de pian sunt cea mai buna alegere pentru el.
S-a inselat, micutul James urand din tot sufletul orele in care trebuia sa se aseze in fata portativului. La 14 ani a aparut si marea sa sansa. A imprumutat o chitara electrica de la un coleg si in fiecare noapte pe coridorul caminului se auzeau acordurile sale.
Cu toate acestea, James Blunt nu a incercat sa-si aprofundeze cunostintele muzicale. A preferat sa urmeze Facultatea de Inginerie Aero-spatiala si pe cea de Sociologie, fiind ferm convins ca va proiecta avioane. Dar nu a fost asa si peste cativa ani s-a trezit in Kosovo, insotit de o arma, de o chitara si cu sarcina de a mentine pacea in zona.
Single-ul "No Bravery" a fost scris in 1999 pe baricade: "Este singura piesa scrisa in intregime in Kosovo, in timp ce stateam incaltat in pat. In armata trebuie sa dormi cu bocancii in picioare. Piesa vorbeste despre soarta. Ca si restul albumului�, povesteste el.
In 2002, James abandoneaza cariera militara pentru a deveni muzician: „Tatal meu a fost foarte suparat pe mine, pentru ca renuntam la o slujba sigura pentru a face ceva riscant.� La o saptamana dupa ce a lasat armata in urma, muzicianul si-a cautat un manager si dupa trei saptamani Linda Perry i-a oferit un contract pentru a inregistra un album in Los Angeles.
Din acest moment, acordurile chitarii si vocea lui Blunt au inceput sa uimeasca atat America, cat si Europa. Pe langa semnatura Lindei Perry pe albumul sau, a cantat chiar pe aceeasi scena cu Elton John.
"Sunt o persoana foarte vesela, in general. Privesc viata cu optimism si sunt impacat cu mine... Muzica este, intr-un fel, un jurnal al evenimentelor din viata mea si mijlocul prin care ma exprim.� Chiar daca versurile pieselor sale sunt destul de pozitive, James Blunt a trecut prin numeroase experiente neplacute (frica de moarte pe campul de lupta, distrugerea unei relatii din cauza drogurilor), cat sa pastreze un sound melancolic.

poate nu m-am exprimat bine dar de exemplu si manelele intra in categoria de muzica neserioasa sau muzica de discotece, muzica serioasa este o piesa de muzica compusa de un compozitor fara kitch-uri, sau fel de fel de efecte muzicale fara note, si care nu neaparat este populara pe lista voturilor ci o compunere serioasa de gen jazz, rock, clasica.
